Anne Saunders was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1955 and has a B.A. in Illustration and Printmaking from Duncan Jordanstone College of Art and a Masters Degree by Research (Fine Arts) from La Trobe University, Bendigo.
She is a professional artist and teacher who has held various art related positions including Designer, Lecturer in Printmaking, Gallery and Studio Partner, Lecturer and is currently the Drawing Studio Co-ordinator for Visual Arts at the University of Ballarat, Victoria.
Anne has exhibited in more than 30 group exhibitions in Australia, Scotland and England and had several solo exhibitions in Australia and her work evolves from the abstractions of her surroundings - space and tangible objects that are simply contemplated or accessed through memory. Her technique is to build images within the layers of mixed media using strength of colour, form and surface tension.
A popular artist, her works can be found in private collections worldwide including Australia, United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand, Nigeria, Switzerland and France. Anne lives with her husband Doug Wright, the artist, in Ballarat, Victoria.
