Matamata, New Zealand
Diane Scott has been sculpting for twelve years in a variety of stone including Oamaru, Hinuera and marble. In addition she occasionally uses bronze, clay and plaster as sculpting media.
Diane’s work is characterized by repetition and planes, which are broken by strong lines and holes to give contrast, movement and strength, and have been included in 11 exhibitions in New Zealand during the last 4 years. She is an active member of the Matamata arts community and was recently awarded the 2001 Matamata Artist of the Year.
Collectors are drawn to her beautiful work and many pieces, including commissioned works, are now held in private collections in New Zealand, USA, Canada and England.
